HOPE Ride for Peace &
Sustainability
At 9:00 AM on Mon 19 March 2007 bicyclists will gather
in
front of the Courthouse in downtown Corvallis, OR, to continue riding
along with the Catalysts of HOPE (Healing Our People and Earth), 12-15
riders, including 6 children ages 17 to 17 month old twins. The group
will bicycle south via 99E and culminate at the Federal building in
Eugene, where cyclists will join Stand for Peace walkers from Cottage
Grove and local peace groups at about 4:00pm. A potluck gathering at
"Camp Revere" will follow. Local people who'd rather Bike4Peace than
kill4oil are encouraged to participate in all or part of the ride. Some
will ride across town, some across the state and some across the
continent. Please join us.
Sponsored by Veterans for Peace, Oregon Peaceworks, Love Makes a Family
and others, the Catalysts of HOPE are a rolling community dedicated to
a vision of sustainable
peaceful
lifestyles. The Journey will weave together a
network of communities down the west
coast and across the south,
each
only a bike ride from the next. Through facilitated
discussions and
less formal communication, riders will share techniques for simplifying
life and building peaceful community. The Journey will converge with
other Bike4Peace
rides in Washington, DC, on Sat 22 Sept, World
Car-Free Day.
